S. Korea's top party sends lawmakers to U.S.
South Korean
ruling party lawmakers left Monday for the United States to seek
assurances that it will not export beef from older cattle, in hopes of
calming a domestic
political crisis generated by fears of mad cow disease. more
CME Group Daily Livestock Report: $4 gasoline, $7 corn further squeeze livestock markets
According to the CME Group, U.S.
livestock markets were left reeling last week by sharply higher energy
and feedstock futures prices and the general uncertainty surrounding
the outlook for feed supplies in the next 12 to 18 months. more
Managing manure on small farms topic of eXtension webcast June 20
The term
"small farm" can
bring to mind anything from a couple of horses on several acres to a
family dairy or feedlot. All small farms that raise livestock share the
common challenge to properly manage manure with limited time and money.
Extension specialists from across the United States will share
information with
the public in an hour-long seminar on manure management challenges for
small
farms, information to help with environmental issues and how to develop
a nutrient management plan. more
