Gov. Perry appoints four to Red River Authority of Texas Board of Directors
Gov. Rick Perry has appointed four members to the Red River Authority of Texas Board of Directors. The board oversees the conservation, preservation and development of water resources in the Red River basin. Two of the four are TSCRA directors, and one is a TSCRA member. more
 

TSCRA sends comments to EPA in support of RFS waiver
Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association sent a letter of comment to the EPA June 23 stating its support of Gov. Rick Perry's request to waive a portion of the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) for Texas. EPA has until July 24 to make a decision on the waiver. more
 

Feed costs keep cattle off lots
Corn's gain is cattle's pain as Oklahoma ranchers and feedlots adjust to higher costs for grain by cutting back. Higher feed and fuel costs are causing feedlot operators to pay less for cattle, resulting in fewer cattle in those lots. more
 

Weekly Crime Watch for June 23: Special Rangers investigate cattle, equipment thefts
Cattle, saddles, all-terrain vehicles and tractors seem to be appealing to thieves this month. Special Rangers Ben Eggleston, District 2; Doug Hutchison, District 20; and Jimmy Dickson, District 14, who is working with the local sheriff and police departments, need your help if you have any information on these thefts. more
