Group to document unwanted horse incidents
Reports of unwanted horses are widespread and many, but until now, not adequately documented or verified. The Horse Welfare Committee has been formed to provide such facts. The goal of the committee is to factually document the incidents of unwanted horses in the U.S. and determine if this trend is directly related to the closure of U.S. horse slaughter plants. more

Cow calf: As summer heats up, so do water toxicity issues
Blue-green algae in dirty and drying ponds and flood overflow areas can cause fatal toxicity in all domestic animals that drink from these ponds. The culprit is not really an algae and may not even be blue-green. The problem is caused by a group of organisms known as cyanobacteria. When these organisms are present in small to moderate numbers, they don't present a problem. When the pond "blooms", however, they create toxins. more
