TSCRA represented as NCBA evaluates governance structure
The cattle producer leaders of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA) have appointed a task force to identify potential changes to the association's governance structure. Its task will be to find ways to improve the association's ability to respond to consumer, regulatory and legislative issues impacting the cattle and beef industries efficiently and effectively. TSCRA Past-president Dr. C.R. (Dick) Sherron, Beaumont, has been chosen as a member of the task force and will represent Texas producers. Also representing Texas on the task force representing state affiliate executive staff is Ross Wilson of the Texas Cattle Feeders Association. more
TSCRA director testifies on immigration issues before Texas Senate Transportation and Homeland Security committee
TSCRA Director and Labor committee chairman Bennie Bock, New Braunfels, testified Wednesday in El Paso before the Texas Senate Transportation and Homeland Security committee on immigration issues. His testimony outlined many of the concerns facing Texas beef producers as employers in today's volatile agriculture market, including the need for a guest worker program and reliable methods of identification for workers. more
