TxDOT public involvement opportunities
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT)
is pleased to announce four opportunities for participation in important and ongoing discussions about the future of mobility. Senate funds veterinary student debt relief program
The Senate agriculture appropriations bill marked up on July 17 included a
$5 million appropriation for the National Veterinary Medical Service Act. The funding proposal follows the June 19 action of the
House Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Subcommittee to include a $1 million request for NVMSA in the 2009 appropriations bill. Congress passed NVMSA in 2003 to offer school debt relief to veterinarians who opt to work in underserviced areas, such as rural communities experiencing a lack of large- and mixed-animal practitioners. more
Lampasas River watershed protection workshop offered
The Texas Watershed Steward program will host a free workshop on protecting the Lampasas River Watershed in September. The workshop will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 25 at the Lampasas County Farm Bureau, 1973 North U.S. Highway 281, Lampasas. more
