TxDOT 2030 Committee to hold public hearings across
Texas
The Texas Department of Transportation's 2030 Committee is conducting a series of
public hearings across the state, including upcoming meetings in Dallas on Aug.
21 and Corpus Christi on Sept. 4. These public hearings will allow for
additional input on the needs assessment plan. All meetings are open to anyone wishing to attend and listen. more
Pronghorn decline observed in Jeff Davis and Presidio
Counties
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) wildlife biologists recently recorded a considerable drop in the pronghorn antelope population in portions of Jeff Davis and Presidio Counties, although they said overall pronghorn populations in the Trans-Pecos remain only slightly below the 30-year average. The specific causes for the loss
are not known, but biologists believe several compounding factors probably
triggered it. more
