Estimated cow-calf returns for 2008 are headed into the red, as calculated by the Livestock Marketing Information Center (LMIC). The LMIC has estimated typical Southern Plains annual cow-calf returns over cash costs plus pasture since the 1970's. The estimated 2008 returns are negative for the first time in 10 years. more
