Senate committee approves legislation to relieve ag labor shortage
The Senate Appropriations Committee yesterday on a bipartisan basis approved legislation sponsored by U.S. Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Larry Craig (R-Idaho) that would provide emergency relief to the nation’s current agriculture labor shortage by granting temporary, limited immigration status for experienced farm workers. TSCRA joined with other national agriculture groups to support such legislation.  more

Border fence lawsuit to be filed
The Texas Border Coalition has confirmed it is filing a class action lawsuit against the federal government today over the construction of the $50 billion U.S.-Mexico border wall. more

The rule facilitates open, transparent price discovery and provides all market participants, both large and small, with comparable levels of market information for cattle, swine, sheep, beef, and lamb meat. more
