Beef Industry Town Hall Meeting tonight in Three Rivers
The Beef Industry Town Hall Meeting for Wednesday, Apr. 23, will be held at Live Oak Livestock Auction, 4 miles south of Three Rivers, Texas, on highway 281. Producers do not have to be a member of any industry organization or association to attend. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. and a free meal will be served at 6:00. Presentations will begin at 6:30. more

 

TSCRA student membership events held at Texas Tech and Texas A&M
TSCRA held membership gatherings for students at Texas Tech University on April 8 and Texas A&M University on April 16. Both meetings were a success, with a turnout of 48 attendees at Tech and more than 200 students attending the Texas A&M meeting. Approximately 70 folks signed up for student memberships at both events. more

 

Virtual fence on Mexican border to be replaced
The government will replace its highly touted "virtual fence" on the Mexico border with new towers, radars, cameras and computer software, scrapping the brand-new $20 million system because it doesn't work sufficiently, officials said. more

 

Texas crop, weather, April 23, 2008
With few exceptions, most of the state's topsoil remained critically dry. And in regions where a little rain came, strong winds followed, taking moisture with it. Conditions were particularly severe in the Panhandle and the Southwest. more
